DBT skills classes for adults
mind body seven is pleased to offer interested adults the opportunity to learn practical skills to manage stress and cope with distress.
Module: Distress Tolerance
Day/Time: Wednesdays 10am - 11.30am
Dates: Oct 26th, 2022 - Dec 21st, 2022 (NO class on Nov 23rd)

Where: virtual interactive classes on Zoom
The DBT Skill of Mindfulness develops the ability to observe individual thoughts and feelings to lessen stress, provide perspective and enable effective use of the other categories of DBT Skills.
Each 8 week module
★ includes Mindfulness practice plus one of three rotating categories:
➢ Distress Tolerance Skills augment coping and tolerance of distress to target habits of avoidance that are unhelpful.
➢ Emotion Regulation Skills focus on increasing positive emotions and changing automatic emotional reactions to more effective responses.
➢ Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills provide practical communication principles that decrease conflict and improve communication and mutual understanding.
All are encouraged to participate in each module
If you're not able to attend the next module, you can join that module category when it's offered again in the future.

Interpersonal skills and relationship skills.
Includes building skills to consider dialectic perspective and validation; addressing balance between acceptance and change in family and other relationships. Understanding and applying ways to increase behaviors that align and support own goals and decrease behaviors that complicate and interfere with own goals |

What is needed to participate?
1. Participating individuals committed to weekly attendance and practice of skills.
2. Cost for each weekly 90-minute class: $145 per class
3. Hard copy or PDF of the workbook for the course: DBT Skills Training: Handouts and Worksheets © 2015 by Marsha M. Linehan. It is currently listed on Amazon Prime for approximately $34. It is recommended to purchase the hard copy version of this book prior to the first class. However, if you join, the team leaders will also provide you with a digital version of this book at no cost.
